Casual (Bank) Workers

If would you enjoy the variety and challenges of working in a hostel for homeless people, then send us an application!   You will be working closely with our permanent Support Staff team, Reception and Night Concierges who provide support and general housing management services in our hostel.  Maybe you worked, or are working in another type of role that supports vulnerable people.  Or, you may bring your own life experiences from using support services in the past.  Above all, we want to hear from you if you are great people person!

  • Rate: £9.50 per hour
  • Hours:  Work is offered on an ad hoc basis.

Any shifts we offer will be as cover for permanent staff who are on leave. Shifts we offer will vary between 4 and 10 hours. Early shifts start at 7.30am and late shifts finish at 8.30pm.  If suitable work is available it may be offered to you, although Branches Hostel is under no obligation to offer you work and you are under no obligation to accept any offer of work from us.

As a Casual (Bank) Worker you will not be entitled to organisational or statutory sick pay and you will not be eligible to join Branches’ occupational pension scheme. Under the Working Time Regulations 1998 as amended by the Working Time (Amendment) Regulations 2001 you are entitled to paid annual leave at the rate of 5.6 weeks per complete year of work on a pro-rata basis.

This is a rolling recruitment campaign – we hold interviews at the end of every month. If you are successful with your application, we will call you for interview. And if you are successful at interview, we will add your name to our list of Casual (Bank) Team. To join our Casual (Bank) Team you will need to have a current Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate, or are able to apply for one.
