Resettlement Worker (part-time)

Who we are looking for

To join us as a Resettlement Worker you do not need a formal qualification. But you must have the right mix of experience, skills and attitude. You will be managing your own caseload and completing outreach work.

You will bring:

  • experience of working with vulnerable people in a housing or other support-related area.
  • resilience, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate individuals within the client group towards their goals.
  • an ability to communicate with the client group in a non-judgemental way and able to build trusting yet professional relationships with clients.
  • excellent communication skills, initiative, and a ‘can do’ attitude to your day-to-day work.

This is not a desk-bound role.  The Resettlement Worker role is hands-on and you will be comfortable and confident in your interactions with individuals, being a visible presence in the hostel and engaged with the day-to-day work of the organisation. You must be a collaborative team player and equally confident and capable, working alone. This is a small hostel, which means everyone mucks in and supports each other.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to make an impact and work in a small, energetic charity that is expanding its services to homeless people
  • A meaningful, hands-on role working closely with the client group
  • Encouraging and facilitating the changes clients want to achieve and making a real difference with them on their journey
  • Playing an active part in the wider day-to-day work of Branches Hostel as a proactive member of a supportive, passionate team
  • An in-depth induction programme; and a training programme tailored to your professional development needs on successful completion of probation
  • Professional development and challenge in your day-day activities
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata part-time)
  • Contributory pension
