Support Workers x2 – £24k pa

We are looking for great people skills in our Support Workers!

Have you worked in a service supporting groups of vulnerable people, or do you have direct experience of homelessness?

A formal qualification isn’t necessary for a Support Worker with Branches Hostel but the right mix of attitude and skills is.

Whatever your background, we want people who will bring resilience and the ability to motivate individuals to achieve their goals.  Support Workers are vital to ensuring the personal development and empowerment of clients living at Branches Hostel. We are looking for people who can encourage, challenge and facilitate individuals on their journey of change, including through the difficult stages.

Of course you have excellent communication skills and will be comfortable interacting with individuals in a non-judgemental way. You’ll use your initiative together with a ‘can do’ attitude in your day-to-day work.

This is not a desk-bound role.  The Support Worker roles are hands-on and you will be comfortable being a visible presence in and around the hostel, actively engaging with the day-to-day work of the organisation.  Branches is a small hostel. This means everyone contributes and helps with what needs to be done. You must be able to work in a team and be equally confident working alone.

See the Role Profile for more information. If you think you have the skills and attitude we are looking for, we want to see your application!

  What we offer

  • The opportunity to make an impact in a small, energetic charity that is expanding its services to homeless people
  • A meaningful, hands-on role working closely with the client group
  • Opportunity to have an active part in the wider day-to-day work of Branches Hostel as a pro-active member of a supportive, dedicated  team
  • An in-depth induction programme; and a training programme tailored to your professional development needs on successful completion of probation
  • Variety and challenge in your day-day activities
  • 30 days annual leave, which includes bank holidays
  • Contributory pension

Closing date: Monday, 30th April @ 12midnight. Interviews:  Wednesday 9th / Thursday 10th May.
